| Bio Admin History |
Hubert Hollingworth was one of Edmonton's most outstanding photographers and was a founding member of the Edmonton Camera Club. He also operated his own photographic studio as well as working as a photographer for McDermid Studio, The Edmonton Journal, and the Edmonton Bulletin. Upon retirement in 1976 Mr. Hollingworth took up part time work copying and cataloguing photographs, many of them his own, at the City of Edmonton Archives. Mr. Hollingworth died in January 1988. |
| Scope and Content |
The fonds consists of materials collected or created by Hubert A. Hollingworth and dating between 1914 and 1974. The fonds consists of various souvenir programs, a post card album, high school newsletters, maps, and newspaper clippings relating to Edmonton's history, a memorial of Frank Hollingworth and his work with early radio, and photography booklets and catalogues. The fonds consists of approximately 3,000 of his photographs, documenting life in Edmonton during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. |
